The spice of life......no, really.

If you know me you know that I have a fondness for all things food. I like to grow it, cook it, share it, read about it, eat it, and even take pictures of it. After being given a book called "Everything I Ate" by Tucker Shaw (which came from a shelf somewhere in the Xavier bookstore and thankfully made its way into my hands) I was inspired to share a peek into my life not so much through words or candid shots of me with friends rather through the sometimes simple and sometimes elaborate gastronomic goodness that I experience each day. I am a rookie so not every meal makes it on camera but it's a start. Food brings people together. Food keeps culture and family tradition alive. Food is often tangible evidence of human desires and weaknesses. Food tells a story...and this happens to be a "piece" (ha) of mine. Indeed, I am what I eat.

Oh my, I am so behind! March MADNESS = so busy I have neglected to blog for a month. So, here is a glimpse at "The Foods of March." Henceforth I will try to get back on the blogging grind!

Omelette with sweet tomatoes and red/orange peppers.

Adding sweet gherkins and hummus to a salad does wonders.

Salad from yesterday, baked tilapia with just butter and pepper, an AMAZING baked sweet potato.

Garlic, olive oil, buttered shrimp, delicious "there's a lot going here" salad.

Shrimp chimichanga from El Dorado. :)

Black bean and sweet potato enchiladas.

Kroger salad bar believe or not!

We went to Montgomery Inn with Brendan and Brogan Ryan in Columbus. This was Meg's first time. And she was on cloud-9. I had saratoga chips and a salad.

A birthday Jack/Diet coke and popcorn with two of my besties at McD's in Wilmington.

Meg visited! We made pizza! Homemade whole-wheat crust, Montgomery Inn bbq sauce, pepper, squash, onions, sun-dried tomatoes.

Veggie flatbread from Subway. I get all the veggies + sweet onion sauce and oregano.

TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE. I will never tire of this :)

Peanut butter, banana, rice milk, chocolate whey protein. Looks gross, tastes good.

Whole-wheat spaghetti, olive oil, salt and peppered fresh broccoli.

Tuna, mayo, sweet pickles, cumin, thyme. On toast.

Old-fashioned oats, honey, cinnamon.

Kale, black beans, onions. Red pear.

Mesclun mix salad with honey/olive oil/red wine vin. dressing
