The spice of life......no, really.

If you know me you know that I have a fondness for all things food. I like to grow it, cook it, share it, read about it, eat it, and even take pictures of it. After being given a book called "Everything I Ate" by Tucker Shaw (which came from a shelf somewhere in the Xavier bookstore and thankfully made its way into my hands) I was inspired to share a peek into my life not so much through words or candid shots of me with friends rather through the sometimes simple and sometimes elaborate gastronomic goodness that I experience each day. I am a rookie so not every meal makes it on camera but it's a start. Food brings people together. Food keeps culture and family tradition alive. Food is often tangible evidence of human desires and weaknesses. Food tells a story...and this happens to be a "piece" (ha) of mine. Indeed, I am what I eat.

11pm: Bean burrito from Taco Bell. In the car on with Britton and Kaitlin on the way home from a Reds vs. Brewers game. It seriously has been about 6 years since I've had Taco Bell (okay, maybe there might have been one post-Finnie's occasion second ACE summer???) and my stomachache later in the evening/morning was a vivid reminder of why. But Kaitlin and I were so hungry and we needed a little late night snack and it had been several hours since we had Subway (sorry no picture!) FOURTH MEAL!
1pm: A delicious, cold nectarine. When it's hot out I crave fruit!
9:30am: Old fashioned stove-top oats with honey and cinnamon. at home. (*You will never find me eating the pre-packaged microwavable oatmeal stuff. gross. Unless of course I am at a Holiday Inn Express early in the morning before a cross country meet and that is the best breakfast option. Suffice it to say this has happened many times.) Fills you up and is good for your heart!
