The spice of life......no, really.

If you know me you know that I have a fondness for all things food. I like to grow it, cook it, share it, read about it, eat it, and even take pictures of it. After being given a book called "Everything I Ate" by Tucker Shaw (which came from a shelf somewhere in the Xavier bookstore and thankfully made its way into my hands) I was inspired to share a peek into my life not so much through words or candid shots of me with friends rather through the sometimes simple and sometimes elaborate gastronomic goodness that I experience each day. I am a rookie so not every meal makes it on camera but it's a start. Food brings people together. Food keeps culture and family tradition alive. Food is often tangible evidence of human desires and weaknesses. Food tells a story...and this happens to be a "piece" (ha) of mine. Indeed, I am what I eat.

9:30pm: Annnnnd thankfully my mom toasted up a piece of pizza threw on a veggie burger and mixed up a salad so I could enjoy a proper dinner when I got home. I hate eating this late but I was waiting around at the school for all of the kids to be picked up...thankfully in good conversation company with some of the high schoolers. Watched the Federer/Soderling quarterfinal on tv while I ate. Just a day in the life. And the food tells the story...

8pm: Well, I miss out on the homemade muffins that Curtis' mom brought to the Fairborn Invite. Argh. Oh well at least I had a Cashew Cookie Larabar and organic nectarine with me. Clearly I (broke the rules and) ate this on the bus. With a gaggle of chatty teens and pre-teens in the seats behind me.

12:30pm: Mixed greens, greek salad, broccoli and cherry tomatoes from the salad bar at Kroger. I picked up this tasty salad while getting my air-mail disposable camera developed and I also ran into Jimmy Finnegan! I love living in a place where you always run into people you know :)
